The MTS Center for Life provides many resources to help you in your grief journey.

mts-center-for-life-zcmWe understand that it can be difficult to get through any given day or any moment when grieving the loss of a loved one.  You may feel the desire to talk to someone who can offer support. The Mid-America Transplant Services Center for Life is available as a resource for you throughout your grief journey.

The MTS Center for Life serves as a source of information, provides tools for your grief journey, and offers specific services designed to meet your family’s needs by:

  • Discussing questions or concerns you have regarding donation and transplantation
  • Talking about the specific needs of your family, including suggestions about how to get through difficult anniversaries and holidays
  • Sharing bereavement resources such as books, pamphlets, and articles, to help you understand your grief
  • Connecting you with community and faith-based support groups to help you through the grieving process
  • Providing grief counseling services and referrals to community mental health professionals for you and your family.
  • Enrolling you in the MTS Grief Companion Program that will provide the opportunity for you to talk with another donor family member who has experienced a similar loss.  This relationship can help fulfill a vital need for support and encouragement.

  • Scheduled mailings during the first year following donation
  • Solace, a newsletter published three times each year and filled with articles to assist you through the grieving process
