With all of waiting and worrying that you and your family have done, and hopefully with all of the rejoicing at your second chance at life, you probably aren't aware of the role that MTS plays in the transplant process. Mid-America Transplant Services coordinates the procurement of vital organs, tissues, and eyes in hospitals throughout its service area. MTS also works closely with the four transplant centers located within its service area to oversee the care, placement, and transportation of the donor organ. While MTS played a part in your second chance at life, none of this would be possible without the generosity of the donor family... the family that gave you your gift... the family who, in their time of devastation and loss, made the decision to let life go on. |
