Sandy Gable

Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have forgotten how to fly

We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Sandy Gable, not mourn her passing into another world. Sandy was Greg's best friend, wife & lover, for 29 years. She cared about her Mother & Father's family more than anybody besides Greg will ever know. Her brothers and her sisters plights were hers as well. She was a good mother to Jason & Justin. God left her on this earth just long enough that she knew they could handle the challenges of life. Sandy was everybody's best friend. Even though she was dying inside through her own pain and depression. Only those that were very close to her ever knew her pain. She battled valiantly against depression off and on for the last 15 years.

Sandy lost a very good friend last year, Cindy, to kidney failure, while she was waiting for a donor. Sandy watched her die over about a 2 year period. Cindy died, waiting for a kidney. Then, she lost another friend a few short months ago, suddenly ...Deena, 34 years old, was the daughter of her 2nd best friend on earth, and she watched him die inside. Sandy couldn't change any of these events, but she was crushed by watching her friends pain and suffering. Jesus did the same thing, and he died on the cross for us, to ease our pain. He tried to take all of the pain and suffering from everyone else, and endure it himself. She never got over the pain she felt for those friends. Through her death, three people have life. Her heart beats in the chest of a young person, and each kidney saved the life of another. That's how she would have wanted it.

In the last few months, Sandy lost perspective of what she had, what she'd lost, and what she wanted, so much so that she couldn't find the path home. When we concentrate on things that we can't change, instead of what we can change, we lose our path. Sandy tried her best to change what she couldn't, and it enveloped her to the point that she was consumed by something she had no control over. She tried so hard to help, change & control God's plan, that he had to take control. When God saw that no one on this earth could guide her home, He took her home to be by his side. And he did it swiftly.

Sandy is now all of ours ANGEL! She is someone we can all talk to at any time, and be guided by her kindness, love, and affection, in any situation. Sandy was only concerned with others her whole life. Anyone Sandy met in her short 44 years on this earth, is a better person for knowing her. We'll all love and miss her, and we'll remember her ...Forever!

Sandy thought of this lonely field as her heaven on earth. Many nights, she'd ride her horse up here at midnight and just look at the stars, the moon, be one with God, and pray for a better place. It's only fitting that we spread her ashes on this field today, and send her to heave on the wings of a prayer. Just remember, Sandy will always be in our hearts, and she is finally at peace, with Cindy, and Deena, at the right hand of Jesus. Whenever there's a full moon, look up, say a prayer for them, and just know that the three of them are riding, together, in God’s place, waiting for us to join them someday. I'd even bet they're trying to get Jesus to ride bareback!

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust... ... ....I love you baby!..Greg
