Angelo Jordan-Kitchen - Organ Donor

One day in August 1989, 15-year-old Angelo Jordan-Kitchen and a friend were inspecting a gun they had found. The boys didn't know the gun was loaded. It accidentally discharged, killing Angelo.

Beverly Kitchen, Angelo's mother, was open to organ and tissue donation when the option was mentioned at the hospital. Angelo had been a loving and giving person and Beverly felt that he would have wanted to help someone in need. It was the only way to make sense of such a tragedy. Today, Beverly is an active spokesperson for organ and tissue donation.

Making the decision to become an organ and tissue donor should result from a family discussion. The decision is easier when the whole family knows how each member feels about donation.
